This winter transfer window proves to be a period of intense rumour and possible big-money moves. A number of notable stars are being connected to moves out of their present teams. Here is a look at a selection of the key figures that are poised to be changing clubs in January.

A. Semenyo

Despite the Black Stars' failure to reach the AFCON, this has left the forward available, reports suggest a significant move is close. This Bournemouth attacker possesses a contract with a £65 million buy-out clause applicable for a two-week period in early January. Recent developments indicate Manchester City are now the frontrunners for his signature. Former interested parties like Tottenham and Chelsea reportedly have moved on to alternative options, potentially opening the door for teams such as Liverpool or Manchester United to attempt a late bid.

Marc Guéhi

The English centre-back has excel for Palace despite a summer transfer to Anfield falling through. With his contract due to run out in the summer, January is the club's final opportunity to secure a transfer fee for their captain. Numerous top sides, including City and several continental powerhouses like Bayern Munich, Real Madrid, and Barcelona, are believed to be interested. However, a winter departure remains difficult, particularly given the coach's reliance on the defender.

B. Johnson

This Wales forward has had starting opportunities hard to come by at Spurs this campaign. Although finishing as the side's leading goalscorer the previous campaign, he has started just a small number of league games. Reports suggest the North London outfit is open to a transfer for the correct valuation, thought to be in the region of forty million pounds. The Cherries appear to be at the front of the queue, with Aston Villa, Brentford, and Crystal Palace also credited with an inquiry.

R. Neves

The Portuguese midfielder could be poised for a return to the English top flight following a spell in Saudi Arabia. Additionally, there have been rumours from Spain that he is prepared to accept a reduced salary for a switch to the Spanish giants.

Marc-André ter Stegen

This veteran German goalkeeper finds himself as the third option at Barça following new coach Hansi Flick. Having lost his place and had an operation, a winter exit looks increasingly probable. Villa were once mentioned as a possible suitor, but that option currently seems unlikely. Instead, interest from Turkey and Saudi Arabia are thought to be showing interest in the keeper.

Ivan Toney

The proven England striker has kept scoring frequently in Saudi Arabia. Coming back to the Premier League might boost his fading hopes of being in the national squad. K. Smit

This highly-touted Netherlands midfielder has earned comparisons to Kevin De Bruyne for his style of play. After starring at the U19 Euros, Smit has become a regular in the AZ first team. The teenager is widely expected to complete a major transfer this month. Newcastle are believed to be frontrunners, but are facing stiff competition from the Spanish champions for a signing valued at around twenty-two million pounds.
